Washington State Representative Debra Entenman joined our youth and staff for an online leadership seminar

“Don’t underestimate your abilities. All of the things we are learning will come to fruition in time, and it will be important for you to know the things that you have learned.” –Debra Entenman

Washington State Representative Debra Entenman joined our youth and staff for an online leadership seminar and she dialoged with us about knowing and staying true to yourself and the wisdom that leaders and leadership develop in their own time.

Debra Entenman is a former non-traditional student who is passionate about education for people of all ages and stages of life. That passion stems from her own experiences, as well as her family’s experiences, in pursuing higher education. As the daughter of a Seattle teacher, she believes in helping people reach their goals by advocating for programs that lift families out of hopelessness and enable them to succeed. She benefited from that type of advocacy as an inaugural member of the Seattle/King County Head Start program, where she began her love of education.

The Freedom Center continues to turn on a dime, increasing our online classes and sessions during the shelter-in-place order. We are bringing experts from around the world with feet-on-the-ground experience in organizing, civic engagement and public service together with our youth and staff.

This is an excellent time to study the relevance and importance of transforming ourselves to make change in the world.
