As we chase doors to our desires of the current trending world of material, we close off the doors to true freedom and happiness. As long as we comply with the systems of destruction, we feed a hungry beast that’s stomach never empties. By feeding this hungry beast with our humanity, we neglect the faucets of our history and culture.

Living in anti-revolutionary times is a great opportunity to change yourself. Opportunities multiply when you work for a sector struggling to unionize, attend college, or talk to anyone—anywhere—any time! There’s an abundance of individualism to analyze throughout society. Most notably, from ourselves. 

Within this world house that we live in, every country has a room. This house has been fueled off of separation for far too long. Because there is no way of living free of each other or living free of responsibility that comes with having rooms in the house, there must be a platform for equitable solutions to be made. Over time, from our separation and disconnect, children have been trained and taught to believe that in this world house, there is no way of coming together through struggle and disagreements. They’ve been taught that the separation and lack of care we face is inevitable. This is a plague on humanity. 

Our purposes are being led by our individual wants, keeping us from seeing what’s inside the minds and hearts of our brothers and sisters in the rooms next to us. Coming together and rebuilding the structure of love and nonviolence back into these walls, back into our home, takes transforming our daily conduct.

Self-criticism is the surest sign of maturity. It costs nothing to reflect on our actions and resolve to change them. Putting down old, destructive habits; and picking up new, constructive habits requires us to look at ourselves from a self-critical lens. The power of self-control—acting upon our understanding of our own ethics and behaviors—is mystical. 

We all have the capacity for a revolution of human values. We are capable of becoming the people we want to be.
