Nonviolence teaches us that we must change inward while looking and acting outward. Self-transformation shifts the world to be more whole. To see what steps can be taken, we must see how we act and what we do around others. If we see ourselves being deep and responsible around some and acting erratically and immaturely around others, we know we are not being authentic.
We can then become more serious and consistent as we walk this earth. Simply thinking about the changes we can be making personally and globally ultimately accomplishes nothing. We don’t live in a world where amazing ideas about being kinder and nobler people can magically come alive at a wave of the wand. It takes genuine conversation and conduct to become people who leave an imprint on society.
