Youth & Family Organizer

Salary Range: $62-72,000 a year based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive fully paid medical and dental benefits and employer-matched pension. Benefits also include sick and vacation in the first year. Travel costs are covered and mileage reimbursed at federal rate.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center strengthens community, peace, and expands social and economic justice by educating and preparing young people to become lifelong, active participants in a robust, fair, and equitable democratic process. High school and college students integrate into intensive study of nonviolence, social justice, and the science of organizing. Each student engages in civic action that focuses on interracial, intergenerational, and multisector movements and campaigns that advance social change. As the Freedom Center grows throughout the West Coast, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about fighting for justice and inspiring generations of students to become engaged civically!

Communications Specialist

The Communication Specialist oversees the communications, public relations and storytelling of the mission and work of the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center. The Communications Specialist works in a campaign style organizational leadership formation, as a part of a diverse interracial, intergenerational team.
Responsibilities include assessing opportunities for messaging and implementing diverse press, media, social media, website and web-based opportunities for agency story telling. The Communication Specialist handles public relations, information output, press releases and media requests, maximizing external communications opportunities.
